About
I owned a restaurant once – before I became a Realtor. Then I was a sous-chef WHILE being a Realtor (OK – that was insane). Now I’m a Realtor by day (and night), usually seven days a week. I still cook everyday, since the cost of eating great food out can be prohibitive! So here I am, cooking great food in my kitchen without spending a lot of money – it really is my “downtime”, keeping my sanity in this rather insane real estate market. I’m always sharing my food with friends, always talking about food, so here’s another step in the process – sharing it with you. Photography also happens to be another of my passions so enjoy my photos of the creations!
Thank You for visiting my food blog, Timeless Gourmet!

I feel your real estate pain … I was a broker in Oregon until the market fell apart, and am once again in I.T. in the wonderful Silicon Valley. Great site and I added you in Foodbuzz as well.
Larry.
Thank you Larry – pain shared always hurts less somehow! I heard just this morning about a lot of Silicone Valley Companies’ woes due to stock incentives evaporating……hope you weren’t affected. Looking forward to visiting you on FoodBuzz.

I’m at Genentech, Sue. Unfortunately, there’s no shortage of need for state-of-the-art cancer drugs.
Hey Susan! Discovered your blog from Foodista and added your widget to my blogsite. Hope it’s alright with you going ahead before asking your permission!
Thank You Lee, and it’s nice to make a connection with another Foodista fan – I love that site!

Your pictures are amazing!
Hi Sue,
You have a great post about the Newburyport Farmers Market. It was part of the inspiration for the greater Newburyport Local Food Network. We have an open mtg at NBPT library 7/9 @6:45. Maybe you can stop by and say hi to the group. We make time to have self introductions by food preparers and how or why they try to use local foods.
What a beautiful site!
I stumbled across this while looking for methods of making Newengland Hotdog buns.
You are on my favorites now.
I was raised in the food and hospitality industry. From bussing tables at 14 to F&B at Vanderbilt Plaza in Nashville at 35.
My brother ia a CIA grad I am a cook. Difference… $40,000 education.
I shall return.
JOhno Thank you – nice to meet you!
Sue,
Great site!!! I came across it on Chow where you posted a couple of your recipes. making the shrimp and cream cheese poppers for christmas appitizer. Keep up the good work.
Sue,
I love your website and I was surprised to see you were a REALTOR as well. I have rented a house on Swain Lake in Barrington NH celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with our children and grandchildren. I am thinking you live somewhere in the area of where the 3 states meet. I will be watching and reading your site so we ( a family of foodies) know where to go for dinners out. I am trying your lamb kabob recipe today!
I’m a 20 year old art student who usually eats out of cans, but I love your website! I’m cooking your bacon-wrapped stuffed chicken right now (I didn’t have celery but I added red pepper, tastes pretty good). Your instructions are really clear and the photos are lovely. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
I’m no chef I’ve been cooking for 5 years or so by finding recipes I wanted to make, following directions and asking others questions if I was unsure about something. I’m also no photographer my photos are on my facebook but I can upload them to photobucket if u don’t have facebook or want to add me to facebook. It would be nice if you took a look and told me honestly how my cooking looks or how I rate.
don’t worry the honestly wouldn’t hurt my feelings.
I’d love to check it out Maria – you can go through my secure contact form to pass info along about where to find you on FB!
WOW What a site. I came across it when I typed in Lamb Shanks with Rosemary.
Never before have I had lamb and we had lamb shanks with Rosemary at a restaurant and I typed in some of the ingredients that I recognized for flavor and upcame your site.
What a way to start a long weekend.
Recipes, pictures and all are fantastic.
Thanks.
Debbie
this is really awesome and inspiring. i found your blog via google. i manage a restaurant in oakland, ca – previous to which i did not cook nor have experience in the service/hospitality industry. in the past few months i’ve been inspired to experiment with cooking in my home. i’m consistently searching recipes and making time between my long hours to cook. reading your story makes me want to continue regardless of the long hours or how tired i could be. you’re absolutely right, it is “downtime” even when there isn’t much “downtime”. thank you.
Thank you Debbie, that recipe is one of my very favorites, I hope you give it a try!
Managing a restaurant is a big job indeed – I admire you doing it and learning as you go! Best of luck to you, and I hope you have many happy hours in your own home to cook for fun and relaxation.
I found this website when I was looking for the right way to clean ipswich clams. I already had them soaking in cold water and cornmeal and was happy to find out I didnt have to do that and wait a few hours. I then put back the white wine and parsley after reading your advice. 100% the way to go. Thank you and I’m glad I found your site. I’m having a great time exploring..
Thank you for visiting Ellie, and I’m happy to spread the word about the clams! Have fun exploring….
Went to the Dolphin Striker last night and we had a great meal and a wonderful time.
Wow! I stumbled on your site looking for a nicoise salad recipe, but everything looks amazing! I might try to shimp chili popper tonight
Beautiful website, food, and photography.
Thank you Kristie
I love your site and the photos are beautiful! I was looking for a red enchilada sauce and like another commenter states, I will be browsing the site for other recipes. Thank you for sharing your creations!
